To be honest... you sure it's 100% fool-proof that it is a female we're looking at?? In this mixed up world we live in... I'm not even sure of anything this days...

    Just ribbing ya bro...

No good recommendations for female photographers - they all suit, pending what you're looking for... I agree with a number of viewpoints here. If you want an "edge", most users probably don't care too much about the weight (whether light or heavy) as long as they are reasonably weight-manageable...

Hi, I don't think gender makes too much of an impact in photography

Anyway, you could consider the pentax range which comes in a variety of colours, and the camera is good.

    Canon - I would say a 550D.

Nikon - I'm not sure, not a nikon user ><

no DSLR is made for ladies. if weight is important there is mirrorless,

but if you don't have financial limit and needed maximum IQ, better buy this 40megapixel monster...

or I guess, there's no DLSR is more feminine than this one

Actually the Pentax 645 is the budget choice among MF...

If really no limit on finances, then don't look at that already... look at these...

i don't know... my fiance is like, short... and quite petite, and she seems to be happy handling my k20d.. which would be quite similar to most other mid-range bodies (e.g. 60d, 7d, d300) in weight.

If the way you hold suits you, then it's the right way

Try the 60D.... quite feature packed and I'm sure you'd love the creative filters.

You should be cradling the lens with the left hand and supporting the weight of the rig. Else your right hand will be pretty sore later.

Everyone has their own way of shooting. I shoot somewhat like the girl in the picture, I cant "cradle" the lens because I have a weak wrist, and while cradling, it has to be bent backwards. After 2-3 hours of holding the lens like that my hands starts trembling... Supporting the weight in between my forefinger and thumb allows me to shoot for longer, even if it is considered less stable by some. After all, if my hands starts to tremble, there ain't no more stability right?

why should there be a best dSLR for female ?

a camera is but a tool that comes in various shapes and sizes. As long as you like using it and use it enough, its output will be nice
I probably collect lenses more than I take pictures

Wow. This thread is so popular. I better say something too.

Something for the ladies...small, slim, sleek, smart, sexy, sophisticated and strong. How about a Leica M8.2 white

well, there is no right or wrong. but if you think about it, cradling something is infinitely more stable and comfortable over extended periods, than grabbing it from the side.

maybe she will not get blurry shots if she does it right, but i think if she is going to do it for 30-40 more shots, she will have wrist pain.

You never know what kind of workouts people do at the gym...Maybe she train her wrist until very strong, so that's the most stable method for her

    @topic
I think one of the most important thing of the DSLR is how well the grip fits your hand, especially if you're going to shoot for long periods of time. If shooting on a tripod most of the time then the grip wouldn't matter. So I'd say get one that you feel comfortable holding. That's something I missed out when choosing my DSLR

the trouble with that argument is that if you go down that line, it means that if i do a lot of yoga, and can twist myself into funny shapes, and those muscles are most developed, i can do a backflip holding position while taking photos, and using my toes to hold up the camera lens with a string.......

Ha ha, nice recommendation. But hey manual focus, every other shot will be blur.
