    Default Within 1000$budget

Hi, maybe just a stupid question..

    currently i hv SB800 flash..no camera, no lens..with 1k budget and to shoot mostly portraits..sh i get

    set up 1..D70s+ 50mm 1.8 (cheapest idea)
    set up 2..D70s+ 50mm 1.4
    set up 3..d200/ D90+ 50mm 1.8
or set up 4..D200/D90+ 50mm 1.4(need to sell away my flash to get this set up)
set up 4 is not a preferable set up..think all will agree to it..

    thanks for all the advise..

    I will go for setup 3 . . . D90 replacement is here and the price for D90 is dropping . . .

Keep your flash, it is still useable . . .

    Get D70s and 50mm f/1.8.
I had used these once before, and they produce very nice portrait. And this combination is the cheapest now. Keep the flash.
BTW, why do you have a flash without any other things?

    Get the d70s + 50 f1.8. A used d70s can go as low as 350 and a 50 1.8 will cost 150 - total 500

Get 1 18-70 kit lens(its damn sharp & metal mount) for general shooting for about 200 or u can get a used 85 f1.8 for about 500.

ya thanks for advise..think go for a good 2nd hand..can save about 50$..usually ppl bought and seldom use it also..2nd thought, just getting D70s will be better..350$+130$..total cost 480$..it's the photographer not the camera..Hehe..will wait D7000 come out then upgrade..spec very tempting..

Just make sure you check the 2nd hand camera thoroughly before you pay.
