Was shooting using Fuji Reala film (ISO100). It's as good as any slide film, and has more exposure latitude!

I second that. In fact used it for my Japan trip early this year. I was very "shock" by the color it produced.

I think close match to Velvia in terms of color saturation.

The highest mountain in Europe is actually Mt. Elbrus, located at the Caucasus Range in Russia. It's Western summit is 5642m and it's Eastern summit 5621m.

The term here "Top of the Europe" is refering to the highest Train Station in Europe, not really the summit. The Jungfrau Region summits do not even make it to the top 10 summit of Europe. Hope it clears the confusion. It's a Tourist Attraction slogan just like "Uniquely [a SEA Country]".

I was using Canon 17-40L lens. Bought it before the trip to Switzerland and never regret it. The combination of using a sharpe lens with a good film really made a whole lot different from my previous shots.

Did not shoot slides because of the overall cost of printouts.

Will be going to Japan Tomorrow, will use this combination of Reala film with Wide Angle Lens and see how's the result. This film is the one of the 2 films I used to shoot Landscape when travelling. If I run out of this film (quite exp so get only 10 per trip), I will use Fuji Xtra 400 but the result is quite different.

Very nice clear color. You were lucky, I was not able to see Matterhorn when i was there coz it was hazy with snow on that day
Enjoy your Japan trip

excellent pics of matterhorn! did u manage to go up via cable car? there's this facinating ice grotto with ice carvings on top of matterhorn. took some pics of the place. but, my fav shots are of matterhorn from the bridge (#2). when i was there on my honeymoon last year, the clouds just cleared in time for me to catch a couple of pics b4 it got covered again. now its my desktop pic.

which hotel did u stay in zermatt? i stayed in hotel post, 5 mins from the train station. gawd.... wish to retire there...

Yes, I bought the 3 days Zermatt pass ($200/person) that allows me to travel all trains and cable cars around Zermatt unlimited time. I made full use of it and went up to Klein Matterhorn at 3820m. It was really fantastic view up there. I was extremely lucky that during my 3 days stay there last Sep, there wasn't a single moment where the clouds covered Matterhorn.

I was staying in this Perren hotel, also 5 minutes walk from the train station and maanged to book a Matterhorn View Room with Balcony. Managed to shoot Matterhorn sunrise early in the morning (6.30am - 7am) and captured a series of photos where it turns from pale grey to golden orange.

There are four national languages in Switzerland: German, French, Italian and Romansh. However, English is used as a business language where most in service lines will be able to speak good English. Certainly there is no language problem there. However, do note that some restaurants may not have a translation of the menu items in English. You may have to ask the waiter or just ti-kum ti-kum.
