meaning u over-exp liao loh, lolz. shooting with digital or film?
the faster the exposure the more detail u get, but darker of course.

Use "Spot" metering mode on the Moon itself

    Hi stiener,

you said you were shooting something with the moon in the background. Meaning that the moon is not the main subject at all rite?

Normally in this case, the moon is like a big spot light and tends to overexpose during long exposure. Look at those street light in the nite shot and you know what I mean.

If you want a sharp moon. Try to shoot the moon first using spot meter + 1 or 2 stops.

    then shoot the main subject.

In ps, merge the 2 photos.

abit troublesome but in film SLR, this is what ppl usually do by multi-exposure in a single frame.

    just my 2 cents
