    Looks like the same kind of confusion I found myself under a couple of weeks ago... kewdos to the seniors for clearing this up.

    Remember... 35mm f/1.8 DX for the DX body is actually 52.5mm (approx) not 35mm... And
    10-24mm DX on DX body is actually = 15-36mm (approx)... The 85mm Micro DX is actually 127.5mm on a DX body..., comprende?? This message is for the Nikon users... Canon users, apply the same concept like-wise...but use 1.6mm multiplier instead...

    actually when you're talking about "mm" for lenses, then conventionally you're talking about focal length.

    So the 35mm f/1.8DX lens has a focal length of 35mm, as far as I know.

    But the 35mm f/1.8DX, mounted on a DX camera (eg D90) has the equivalent field of view of a 52.5mm lens mounted on an FX body.
