This is the one of the two DCs that the Nikkor has, it's not a normal lens where you just AF or MF, there's the defocusing ring that you need to know how to use and apply to get the DC effect. I presume that's why he needs the manual.

man! that's a freaking steal! Enjoy your new toy then . If you have a DSLR, just experiment with the DC settings... so fun...
