For third party hoods check out mass sales, for original canon hoods, just go to the usual recommended shops

Something new to me as I'm new to photography as well.

I thought all lens bought, come with the hood? Why need to buy?
Or you guys talking about different type of hood?

Also, does all of you put on the hood, everytime out for shooting?
I read somewhere, that putting on hood make yr picture sharper?

Not all lens comes with a lens hood, some are sold separately. As the bros above has mentioned, lens hood prevents flare not sure how true the sharpness part is and i do put on a hood whenever i go shooting, to prevent knocks and such.

I wouldn't say its a must, some people use hand, hat, newspaper and whatever they usually use to block out the stray sunlight, so for them, a lens hood is not a must

Not all lenses come with hood. Canon users would love Canon more if hoods are supplied with non-L lenses. Agree? I think brand like Sigma will come with lens hood for all lenses.

I put on lens hood all the time, outdoor or indoor. Esp after I dropped my lens some time ago. It was the hood that save the impact on the front element.
With hood, the image is not sharper. But the contrast is relatively better.
