Hi!
My friend is having frequent r07(more) and r09 messages on her D70, and the shutter release is disabled. I've also encountered this occasionally. On page 63 of the manual it says something about memory buffer and buffer size, but don't quite understand. I thought memory buffer should only be greatly affected when taking RAW or continuous shots? But we are only shooting in single jpegs format. Or is it something to do with the type of CF card used?(I'm using Sandisk Ultra and my friend using Lexar). My friend visited the service centre but was told it's not an error message and nothing was done. Anyone encountered this and care to share your experiences? Thanks in advance!

The r09, r12, r07 numbers in the viewfinder is indicating the estimated number of frames left when you shoot in con't mode. 99% of the time, you can whack more frames than that. This happens when you half press the shutter.
Shutter is disabled coz she does not have a CF card in the cam right? Of coz, if you get rxx number, have a CF card in it, and fully depress shutter button and nothing happens.... ![]() |

Well, one thing to note is that if you cannot get an AF lock, you won't be able to trip the shutter. In MF mode, you will always be able to activate the shutter. This may not be relevant to you but it's good to know also.
r09, r12 will depend on whether you are in jpg fine or normal mode respectively. RAW is r04. |

Lens attached?? As 2100 mentioned, the "error" messages you're receiving are not error messages. They indicate how many more shots the buffer can store. It will appear when you half press the shutter release and it appears regardless of whether you're shooting continuous or single frame.
