Canon G1 with SLR lens???

Hello everybody,

A question on canon powershot G1:

check out this setup, this guy say he use a slr lens
with G1. is this possible?

He's using the lens reversed, more likely for macros. You CANNOT use regular SLR lenses on consumer digicams (like G1/G2) as a regular lens.

u mean for macro shots? would this method be better than
using macro lens and close up filters?

the SLR lens in the photo is not a regular lens?

if you use a reversed 50mm lens on a 100mm lens like G2 , it can give about 2:1 magnification ...

The photo shows a Oly 50mm SLR lens. What I meant is that you can't attach regular SLR lenses onto a consumer digicam and use it "normally" like an SLR. This setup is more for macro shots.
