    Hi,
I like your food photo, but #13 and #14 the colour is out.(#14 need to add some green to stand out the colour)
And #15 and #16 the lighting is too contrast.

    Keep trying,and happy shooting!

Hey bro, Thanks for the advice. I have limited knowledge about lighting and color. I can go home and try to PP and see if it helps.

    Thanks bro~

Erm, actually i think i am not using exactly the right lens for food photography. I also did not utilise flash cus also due to limited budget.

    Due to limited budget, i use a 50mm F1.8.

F1.8 is certainly good enough especially in restaurants with dim lighting. However 50mm is quite zoom-in so most of the time, i have to move slighly back to have a good composition.

I have a 50mm F1.8 also, but what is the correct lens for this job, if I may ask?

No Pro advice from me but i would suggest a 28 to 35 mm and aperture from 1.8 to 2.8 would do a decent job.

However, more importantly is to practice more and to try out which aperture for which type of food and exposure compensation for which type of ambience.

I am also experimenting all the time to see which setting is the best. =)

Yeah, that's the problem I'm facing too... but it does give good bokeh (better than the 35mm). Have to sometimes stand up and back up.

Yeah, even if it's a posh restaurant, i still gotta stand up.
Some people would just stare while you are doing it.
But what to do? This 50mm F/1.8 is cheap and good!
