Default Overseas Retailers

Has anybody ordered photographic eqpt fr overseas online retailers eg B & H, Adorama? Pls share with me your experience.

Besides those mentioned above, which other retailers provide reliable service and good prices?

i jus get quote from a HK retailer but have not order anything from them yet but price is so much cheaper than konota.

konota quoted S$9200 with gst for sigma 300-800mm hsm

hk quoted S$7600 include UPS shipping and insur.

here is the link.

Ya me ...... Secondhanded one, I get from KEH , once they send me a wrong cable, I just wrote to them, they send me a right cable and at the same time let me keep the wrong cable, which I used it for something else .

Ordered a telescope from B&H, which has it's focusing spoild, email them, replace almost instantly.

In general, I find overseas online retailers are somewhat better then Singapore in terms of supplies, service level is also very good. They answer queries quite promptly.

However, there are some overseas online retailers who are downright despeciable as well, so, just stick with the more reputable ones

What is KEH? What's their URL?

If the items are damaged, we still need to ship back for exchange right? Very time consuming & troublesome. Hehe...I emailed B & H 2 days ago to ask some questions. Until now still haven't got back to me leh

What abt the warranty? It's their own local warranty, they don't offer international warranty right?

If I order fr the US, do I need to pay any other charges besides shipping and our 5% GST?

They have USA warranty style, which is International Warrenty, especially for Sigma Items, which they warranty worldwide.

And US warranty is insane. 6 years for Tamron, 5 years for Nikon... the only problem is you'd have to ship it back to US for servicing if anything happens. B&H takes quite a while to reply emails. Shipping is reasonable via UPS at US$38+. Makes sense only if you buy more to justify the cost.

No problem with BH Photo, just have to register your credit card with them via fax etc, for the first time. Ordered numerous CF cards(eg. Sandisk Extreme 1GB US$249), bags (Tenba and Delsey), lenses (quality and price better than most Singapore shops - eg. dust free/US$1100+ for 35mm 1.4L lens, Photoshop CS US$600), and more selection of goods.

Shipping I use direct tp Singapore for smaller items (Less than US$20 shipping, Vpost, etc), or ship to friend's address and collect/get them to bring back.
