Thread: Rail Way near Dairy Farm

Default Rail Way near Dairy Farm

    1. in what area is critique to be sought?

    Composition, Colours, Contrast

    2. what one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?

    A sense of a journey.

    3. under what circumstance is the picture taken? (physical conditions/emotions)

Was taken with a 24-105 and a 5D. Taken in the mid afternoon. Slightly Slightly cloudy. Had a CPL Filter on. Wanted to get a shot with an interesting foreground in it.

    4. what the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture

I feel the composition is pretty decent. Not sure how to post process better though. Any forms of constructive criticisms are welcome to help me improve.

    Dangerous for you.

But I like the composition, the way the inner rails are in focus and then running from me all the way to the horizon. Maybe you could boost the saturation slightly?

Some will want to pull out the protractor or bubble or what ever but to me the tilting horizon is not photo-threatening.

If there is an object, in addition, to hook one's attention, it will be perfect.

foreground looks nicely exposed...... the blown out sky seems to be the price you paid..... if you crop that off, the image and lines going in and out of the image look stronger .... to me...
shaddap and just shoot .... up close

May I ask how is the CPL helpful here?
    RGB Metering & Focusing.

the CPL actually didn't help at all. it was on as i was taking pictures of other things that could have done with a saturation boost. so i ended up turning down the colours while post processing
