There are quite a lot on sale in the Cash converters, etc.

FYI: Your 50mm lens may not fit the old film cameras; AFAIK Canon changed the mount. Canon old birds please feel free to correct if I'm wrong.

all ef mount 50mm lens (including old 3rd party) can be use with canon film cameras,

but old 3rd party ef mount lens may have problem with 10D and newer bodies.

All Canon EOS cameras have the same lens mount: EF - regardless whether film or digital. All EF lenses can be used on EOS film and EOS DSLR, no issues here, to my knowledge.
TS: The nomenclature in EOS film cameras is roughly the same as for DSLR: lower numbers, lower digits are better. Check the features and other details at Photonotes.org.
The incompatible FD mount belongs to the pre-EOS systems, fully manual cameras.

die liao... i wanna a mechanical film camera... bcos i know it will last for many years... i don't want those film camera with AF... cos i know the body will break down after 5-10 years...

so i must use FD mount for such a camera? i cannot use EF lens for it ?

    No. Cannot.

Breech Block and New FD mounts - Get any of the non-EOS enables cameras.

There might be a couple of nice F1(new) and the like on CS.

BTW, even manual cameras require maintenance and servicing.

ya i prefer new camera bodies... but then i guess if i get those non-EOS , i will need to buy old lenses...

i think i might as well go for nikon FM10 (nikon.com.sg is still showing it), and i think i can get new lenses (AF won't work) for it... i heard that nikon didn't change its mount right?

Get an FM2. Quite a few around. The FM10 is a Cosina made-model IIRC.

ask a idiot question... is it possible to get FM2 brand new?

Based on what do you make such sweeping statements? It's a matter of maintenance, care and amount of utilization whether a body breaks down or not. Canon might be able to service your EOS camera, but unlikely they can do the same for your pre-EOS body.

so i must use FD mount for such a camera? i cannot use EF lens for it ?
That's the consequence of your wish. FD lenses can be mounted on EOS bodies (using adapter with correction glass and the resulting side effects on image quality) but EOS lenses cannot be used on FD mount bodies. Just have a look at the aperture .. how should your mechanical body manage the EF lens aperture which requires an electrical signal?

EF mount was introduced 1987. Your chances of getting a new pre-EOS body are .. somewhat limited. Especially in little Singapore where everything must be new and shiny ... Maybe eBay can locate an copy of a collector oversea. The same goes for your Nikon body ...
With EOS body you can buy all brand new Canon mount lenses. Get a Zeiss or any other manual focus lens, switch to Manual exposure mode and you are there.

If you are looking for a mechanical film SLR with manual focus lenses, best choices will be Nikon FM2 with Nikkor Ai/AiS lenses or Olympus OM-1n with OM lenses, in terms of affordability, availabilty and service. Both the Nikon Ai/AiS and Olympus OM lenses can be easily adapted to be used on your current Canon EOS DSLR. These 2 brands, used, are easily available in many shops in Singapore and also at the BnS section here.

I have not heard about mass failure of D30s, D60s, 10Ds, 20Ds, 300Ds, etc. Have you?
