Default need help on CPL and ND filter brand to buy

    Hi guys,

Will be buying CPL and ND filter.
    Need something affordable for now.

I've seen some cheap CPL. Any comments on Marumi and Phottix?

    Thanks.

Why this two brands only? What about considering other brands? like KenKo, Hoya....?

Don't get filters that are too cheap.
Filters sit infront of the lens and will directly affect the IQ of your pictures.

So why spend money to buy good DSLR and Lenses to get good IQ, and proceed to degrade the IQ with cheap filters, just because you want to save 20-50 dollars?

If you want to buy the cheapest filters, might as well buy PnS cameras or Prosumer superzooms.

And there are many series of filters within each brand, ranging from cheap to expensive. Not all are good.

thanks daredevil123 for the comment and the link.
Of course I wouldn't buy those that will affect IQ.
But I will also not buy too expensive filters.

that's why I'm looking for affordable but without sacrificing photo quality.

Best is to shoot w/o filter. Any glass regardless of the quality and price will cause some degrading to the image quality.

If between the 2 brands you have listed, I would go for the Marumi. Have tried that and was acceptable.

I'm using the Marumi Super DHG CPL from Ebay. For the price of $124 after shipping. Worth it! And it came within the week.

Good IQ, v slim profile. Only have issues with threading it in when i change filters at times, but really no biggie.

TS, as what others ahd pointed out, dun cheap out on filters and deteroriate ur image quality. Save up and get at least a decent one in Kenko or Hoya.

Aiyah.. actually I won't bother. This is part of the learning process, about the cheap filters. Once bitten, twice shy.

Next time, hopefully will learn that cheap and good does not apply to everything.

Agree most with Galdor: Best is to shoot w/o filter
especially if cannot afford the better filters which will not degrade photo quality as much.
