Thread: Tamron SP 90mm Macro, how good it it?

Default Tamron SP 90mm Macro, how good it it?

I have been thinking of buying a macro lens in June after getting my bonus.

I have heard a lot of good remarks about this lens but yet to see a picture produced by it. Some says that this lens even beats Nikkor 105mm Micro.

Did anyone of you use this lens or own this lens? Kindly share your experience with it. Can post a picture to exhibit the marvel of it?

    Thanks in advance

Wow, Azone, i just saw some of your shots. They are terrific. I am now quite convinced that Tamron SP 90mm is the one for me.

I suppose the Nikkor 105mm Micro has a slow AF also. I will use Manual focus first, then use AF to finalise it.

Many shooters believe this is the best 100mm range Macro lens on the market now. Good colour, sharpmess.

I don't think you can list AF as a factor for macro lenses, because most people will manual focus right? My 180mm hunts like crazy and is slow as an old grandmother too. I would say the only con is the extension at 1:1.

    Great price, great lens.

It depends. You'll be using AF for shooting larger insects such as butterflies and sometimes dragonflies.
