    Default using rechargeable batteries

Do I have to recharge/discharge the NiMh or NiCd batteries 3 times before using it to its fullest? Is it recommended to do this?

You don't have to but you can if you want...

the reason , the batts will only be at its best after 3 charge and discharge.......(it does not mean recharging 3 times at 1 go lah.....muz discharge 1st....)

i find it rather "ley chey" , so i rather use it 3 times , let my digicam do the draining job.

I remember reading that NiMH need not be discharged. As for NiCd, there is a need to after several times of usage, due to the 'memory effect'.

can show me the site which you read that NiMH need not to be recharge/discharge a few times for the best performance?

so far , ALL of the sites i came across advised or said that , the batts won't reach the best performance only after a few recharge and discharge.

and if there is no need for discharge , why do high-end chargers provide discharge/deep-conditioning functions.

If you're saying using newly "fresh" batteries, go through a few charge/discharge would be better.

After that, do a full discharge and recharge say about after 20 times og recharging?
