very nice shots that bring out the elegant and poetic beauty of the flowers! are these taken at sbg? how long does their "blooming season" last and when will it end? |

lotus has always been my 1st choice nature shot, because it's so poetic and pure.
they were taken either at kg java park, chinese garden, botanical garden or malaysia tasik cini. i am no good with filters, probably only know how to use a polariser..no special technique, just look around for a good angle then wait for the sun and wind to go away. the lenses could be 300mmf4.5, 180mmf2.8 or 90mmf2 macro OM zuiko on the OM2sp. i think they are mainly from provia 100 slide. i never shot lotus without a tripod. lotus only blooms under extended sunny weather. last bloom usually end around sep~oct in singapore. first bloom should be now. best time too shot is in the early morning or late evening, or anytime on a overcast day. but then overcast days are usually quite windy...good luck! |
