    Default shooting photos of photos

Okay ... might sound confusing but just wann share a incident i saw at nationl mueseum at yst nite fest. Those who went would know there was a photo exihibit from some competition.

Guess some one was too enthu in keeping a memory of the event and proceed to shoot a couple of the winning piece with her dslr.

Up came a angmo lady and she was really making her point to the the woman with the dslr. there were signs which said no photography of the pieces but what i think triggered it off is the dslr girl was framing the picture in it's entire ... like photocopying it ...

It got awakard for awhile and the dslr girl just moved on ..presuming not getting any shots at all.

So i think my question will be what are ur views, or some of u also have this habit when going to those galleries? Do u feel it is like stealing the picture from the original photographer?

Anyhow, i think someone from CS had his photo displayed, johnathan,15 yr old or something iirc. The pic was a long exp of a road bending to the left, swear i saw that pic in the nite photography section.

in my opinion, this is two different issues.

first, all museums has restriction on phototaking, some museums photo taking is prohibited, some museums disallow using flash, some museums disallow using tripod. So just follow the law and you will be fine.

second, technically, taking of the display photos depends on the regulation of the exhibition site, some allow some disallow, but whatever it is, ones are not allow to republish the works (photo) without permission from the creator/owner.

btw, you are not writing sms here, please refrain using sms text in the post.
