Just saw these promotions on Straits Times:
Cathay Pacific - Hong Kong return ticket and 2 nights hotel $389
Thai Airways - Milan return ticket $788
Wow so cheap?

I read a report which say that they are trying to get a fair share of the market since Valueair began launching theirs. So the more they compete with each other the better for us consumers.

although SQ provides good services, according the industry airline safety ranking, lots of other airline produce a saver statistics than SQ. Even Malaysia Airline, Thai Airline, and Cathay Pacific rank higher than SQ in terms of accidents and casulities.

I feel SQ is over-rated. I have taken lots of flights (long haul, short haul), and frankly speaking, I don't think that SQ service standards is heads and shoulders over other airlines. At most it will be on par. Best service I ever had was on a Virgin Airways flight from London to Athens.
