    PARAMIS is organized by Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery (KMSPKS) to nurture young local creative talent and develop the character of youth in Singapore.

    We invite you to explore perfection of self by creating an artwork reflecting on the Ten Paramis, which means ‘perfections’ in the ancient Pali language.

    As long as it’s your original work, you can explore any of the following art forms -
    photography, music, graphic design or a combination

    All entries should be based on any one, a combination, or all of the Ten Paramis.

    On top of attractive prizes worth $4,500, selected artists will receive mentorship from established names in the arts scene. Your work will also be showcased to the public! Send us your work by 15 October 2010.

    Photography and graphic design artwork

    * Required file format: JPEG, at least 2000 pixels on the long side
    * Maximum file size: 5 MB
    * Use Online Form to submit

    Music

    * Required file format: MP3
    * Max length: 5 minutes
    * Max file size: 7 MB
    * Use Online Form to submit

    Video – A combination of visuals and music

    * Required file format: MP4
    * Max length: 5 minutes
    * Max file size: 20 MB
    * Submission: Upload it on Youtube, tag it with ‘PARAMIS’ and send us the link

    If submission via Online Form fails, Download Form and send it with your CD/DVD to

    TERMS & CONDITIONS


    1. Open to all residents in Singapore aged 30 and below, PARAMIS is organized by Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery (KMSPKS) to nurture young local creative talent and develop the character of youth in Singapore.

    2. All entries must be received by 12.00pm, Friday, 15 October 2010.

    3. Entries may be a work of photography, music, graphic design OR a combination.

    4. All entries should be based on any one, a combination, or all of the Ten Paramis.

    5. There is no limit to the number of submissions per person.

    6. Winners will be selected and awarded in this manner:

    Selected by Prize
    Most Outstanding Work Panel of judges $1,000
    Top Ten Works Panel of judges $300 each
    Most Popular Online voters $500

    Most Outstanding and Top Ten Works will undergo mentorship by established names in the arts scene.

    7. Selected entries will be displayed on our website (www.paramis.wordpress.com) and at Spiritual Countdown 2010, held 31 December 2010.

    8. Selected artists will undergo the mentorship programme in November and December 2010.

    9. Photographs and graphic design artwork

    10. Music only
    a. Required file format: MP3
    b. Max length: 5 minutes
    c. Max file size: 7 MB
    d. Use Online Form to submit

    11. Video – A combination of visuals and music
    a. Required file format: MP4
    b. Max length: 5 minutes
    c. Submission: Upload it on Youtube, tag it with ‘PARAMIS’ and send us the link



    12. If submission by Online Form fails, please burn a CD and send it to 88 Bright Hill Road, Singapore 574117, Attn: Youth Ministry.


    13. By submitting entries for selection, each artist:
    a. warrants that he/she owns the work(s) submitted, that the whole copyright in the work(s) submitted is vested in him/ her, that the work(s), including lyrics, are not defamatory, obscene or offensive to any culture or religion and where the work(s) was commissioned for business or private purposes, the work(s) is submitted with the permission of the person who commissioned it.

    b. agrees that although the copyright to all work(s) submitted remain the property of the artist, he/she agrees to let KMSPKS use and reproduce them, for our websites, publications, exhibitions and publicity material, without remuneration. All artists will be duly acknowledged.

    c. agrees to the public disclosure by KMSPKS of their names.

    14. KMSPKS reserves the right to reject work(s) which are offensive, inappropriate or not relevant to the theme.

    15. Employees of KMSPKS and members of the PARAMIS working committee may not participate in the contest.

    16. The judges’ decision is final.

    17. Terms and Conditions are subject to change without prior notice.
