    Mmm, seems a little under expose and white balance is off too.

    & I think the 2nd pic has too many distractions. Just my opinion, cheers !

    1.always watch your background
    2.if in doubt refer to histogram
    3.rule of thirds
    4.keep on shooting
    5.practice
    6.practice
    7.delicious makan though.

    Other than underexpose & WB off (I also commit this mistake ), I find the horizon tilted (my opinion, I prefer str horizon).

    I wouldn't say rule of thirds is a must. It's up to you to frame your picture. But I agree the important ones are background and exposure. And you must take note of White Balance. Have to get these 3 right.

    You might want to experiment on going close-up. Overall, good attempt

    do u guys mean read the histogram and adjust the white balance from the reading?

    care to elaborate further?
