Default Another Collapse at Ayer Rajah Industrial Park

I am working at Ayer Rajah Crescent.

Just come back from lunch, and shocking to see that the construction site next to INSEAD Institute had collapsed. Ambulance just arrived for rescue.

Sad to hear that. How major was the accidents? Something like Nicoll Highway?

SINGAPORE : In another industrial accident in Singapore, reinforcement bars have collapsed at the construction site of Fusionpolis at Ayer Rajah Avenue.

SCDF says it received a call at about 1.45pm about the collapse.

Fifteen workers have been taken to hospital and five workers are unaccounted for.

Civil Defence says it is conducting search and rescue work at the site using two rescue dogs.

There are also four ambulances and four fire engines at the scene.

Fusionpolis is located next to the Insead Building along Ayer Rajah Ave One. - CNA

apparently a truckload of reinforcement beams which were to be installed in the worksite came loose from the transport and rolled into the basement construction pit and hitting existing support beam causing a chain-collapse of the support beams. The pit is about 5 level deep.

The MRT tunnel next to the site is not involved.

Lucky came back early from lunch otherwise would be stuck outside.

Ditto... As much as we do not wish to see such accidents from happening, we should be thankful that we do have a pretty capable SCDF (as compared to the stadard they were in during the collapse of Hotel New World) which I'm confident of doing a good job again... Let's also hope for safety and success by our super rescue workers...
