    You've not done any research or reading, have you? Not even the FAQs posted here, or the countless "What software to use" threads. Look for GIMP.

    You can try GIMP. http://www.gimp.org

    It is free. As to how it handles, I am not sure , never used it myself but I think you can get a bunch of info off the site.
