    Default Hi, I'm new

I just bought my D5000 some time ago, it's alright & I love it...

    One question:
What books should I read to help me understand DSLRs/D5000 better before heading for good shots?
    - I am currently reading The Digital Photography Book Vol.3 by Scott Kelby from the National Library
    One word, awesome!
However, I think I'll need more than that!

    Thanks for recommending! (hahas)

    hmm..
    i'm a newbie too.
but i don't think there's personally a shortcut or a super book that can make u a good photog.
u have to practice and practice. trial and errors.
    that's why i feel.
Life is short, so shoot more!

Your manual is a good start. After that, experience, tempered with some good reading material that should be specific to your interests.

U dun really need to buy any more books.. ur user manual is more than enough to let you master ur cam..

There's tons of resources online, bascially u need to read up on the fundamentals of photography, composition etc and shoot more.

First of all, welcome to CS!

Understanding the basics of photography (shutter speed, aperture, ISO etc) is critical. Learn as you shoot, and remember - Google is your best friend

    Hi Moody Hero

    Welcome to the club.

After reading the manual that came with your camera, you can try reading this Intro by sulhan.

    Cheers!
