Talking my 1st night bird series - Large Tailed Nightjar

not very sharp as I was shooting from my car with my engine running, will try again...

Good catch there, still living up to your reputation for sniffing out birds. Now I know the true meaning of your nick Well done, Jason.

BTW try using a bean bag to stablise. I have a empty bag (Fred's mom sew it for me) and I just buy 2 packet of green beans and put the packets into the bag and viola you have a solid bean bag. The only catch is that do not leave the beans in your car for too long, mine started to have weevils which turned into flies, my whole car was infested with it for a while.

ha ha, I do have a head pillow in my car, but I was shooting in a hurry, so didn't deploy it...

I am now trying to get more night birds, this is an up hill task man, any tips??

Great catch!!! I believe this is probably the first nightjar pic posted here. You never fail to amaze me with the variety of birds that u manage to capture. First the lineated barbet and now this. Well done and keep up the good work!

How about some owl pics next time round?

ya, this fellow is oso hard to find, they usually fly off before you can get near enough...

owls?? I still have yet to locate one, only saw one fly into the darkness...
