Default anyone has this b+w filter combination on a canon ef-s 10-22mm?

    hi,

i currently have a B+W XS PRO UV Haze MRC 77mm on my canon 10-22mm lens. i wish to stack a B+W KSM Slim MRC CPL 77mm on it. is this advisable? does anyone has this combination on their 10-22mm? how is the image quality? is there very serious vignetting? thank you.

Why are you stacking filters? Just remove the UV when you use the CPL.

Its not advisable to stack, esp not CPL on UV ( I dun see any added advantage in doing so) with additional glass it only degrades the pic quality.

beside the technical degradation of image quality... you will definitely have clearly noticeable vignette at lower end with wide open.

There is no point in having both UV and CPL together... I just keep my CPL

    Just curious,

what about a CPL with ND filter? Granted, I'll buy an 7~9 stop filter, probably from B+W and stack over my Marumi HMC CPL if the vignetting is acceptable..else I'll just get a 10 stop filter and do away with the CPL.

Just asking if anyone does this on a personal experience/basis.

The vignetting is slightly visible if u use B+W XS Pro UV + slim CPL.

But using ND + CPL, you will get more color cast then you use only 1 ND110. And vignetting will be worst since both are not silm type filter.

Get a ND110 but now market no stock.

Haha. I had intentions to buy the ND110 XD, maybe with GST credits

Oh my CPL is very slim...it's the ND filter I'm more worried about! Yeah forgot about the color cast issue, besides my CPL on my 10-22 at certain polarizations can see (v.very slightly) the banding issue. I suppose I'll go with a 10 stop

    EDIT: sry TS for hi-jacking

Thanks everyone! I shall not stack then.

Jonathan Ang: In fact I want to thank you for the additional information I gained from your post. Exploring ND too.
