SW to convert the size of photos

Hi,
Is there any software in the market that allow you to select multiple photos and convert them to a smaller size? Such SW will be very useful to convert photos that you want to upload to web.

Irfanview and it is FREE! can do batch crop, resize, annotate and rename. but will not make coffee.

nah! don't you know the best software are the free ones? no bugs at all in the years I've used it.

be sure to download also the plug-ins

and set the resampling to best quality. normally I save for web at 90% quality and excluding the EXIF stuff. 640×480 image comes to about 80-100KB. Try it. If you have like thousands of images you need to resize (make sure to regenerate into another folder) you'd appreciate the batch function.

comparing with photoshop's resize and "save as web" feature... which one is better ? *just wondering*
