haha somethings wrong with the links.. let me post it again later..
but when i saw the + sign, looks like 70% sure, mine's a dead pixel.

just called service center and it's about around 100sgd to do the remapping..

    - Use the image tags, you cannot include images when using the url tags for links.
    - Copy the link properly. As you can see, there are "..." inserted which is some way of shortening used by some applications if the real link exceeds some display limits.

err.. my earlier comment of "certain percentage" refers to the case of replacement of the sensor.

If a few pixels.. it's not reasonable to change the sensor as there is some "acceptable limits" and not considered manufacturing defect.. but consumer can still request for some corrective actions by the manufacturer, such as remapping the pixels.

since it is still under warranty, maybe you can go and make some noise then maybe re-mapping is free....

Well, that's my speculations.. but no harm trying..

as somehow we cannot see the pictures and you have came to the conclusion that its dead pixel, just make a trip to the service centre and see what they can do for you. if it is under warranty, don't think they will charge you. pixel mapping is not a hardware replacement process; its just some software process. if i remember correct, another CSer did it some time back and the process was just a couple of hours (or lesser).

which brand of camera are u actually using? i know olympus got built-in pixel mapping feature. not sure about other brands.

    Here are the sample pictures

    F2.8

    F4.0

    F5.6

    F6.3

    F7.1

as you can see, the dead pixel could not be seen when using F6.3 onwards.. i find this very strange.

will bring my camera soon.. for those who got dead pixel in their sensors, is it visible in all apertures?

to check for hot pixel, go for long exposure with lens cap on..Hot pixel is evident during long exposure, mostly due to heat and current leakages.

if ur camera belongs to the newer gen, remapping of hot pixel can be done in the camera(auto). else u can always send down for checking
