    This thread is about the bankruptcy of our moral and value system.

    btw, I know the answer but John Calvin will gladly put be on the stake.

    dun think ans is a good word to use. i'm quite sure that john calvin's argument on why there is no need to prove the existence is not an ans to the qn of why we are here...
    and there are counter arguments from both the 4 horsemen and immanuel kant and friends
    may i assume ur a religious person? lets pls pls pls dun get to the argument. i'm just looking forward to whether this pastor has done wrong or right only. and lets leave it as that.

    you can also read this book.

    * Absolute Truth Claims
    * Blind Obedience
    * Establishing the "Ideal" Time
    * The End Justifies Any Means
    * Declaring Holy War
    we are seeing a lot of that in almost every religion today.

    i just dug an excerpt to check how good it is...

    "Kimball rightly observes that truth claims are foundational for religion. But, he claims that believers err when they hold their religious beliefs in a “rigid” or “absolute” manner. So, when some Christians criticize the Islamic view of God (Allah) as deficient, they reveal their ignorance and bigotry. Kimball asserts that, “there is simply no ambiguity here. Jews, Christians, and Muslims are talking about the same deity” (p. 50). This is because the Qur’an claims that Allah inspired the Hebrew prophets and Jesus. Moreover, the Arabic word “Allah” means “God.” "

    from here.

    wont say its a reliable source, but if that is the stand... it will certainly only work for the religions of the books. other religions wont seem to fit in i guess...

    will try to find the book and read it and i reserve my comments till i done so
