Default Malaysian Butts

Just to raise the bar a bit higher for the butt-flu "sufferers", here are a couple of shots of butts taken up north from our little red dot.

These were taken last weekend when I was at Endau-Rompin with a few friends. These species are not found here, though the Common Pierrot was recorded about 10 years ago and has probably gone extinct in Singapore.

Taken with the 80-400VR with extension tube, which is not known for tack sharp shots at the 400mm end.

Common Pierrot (Castalius rosimon rosimon)

Great Jay (Graphium eurypylus mecisteus) and Green Jay (Graphium arycles arycles) puddling at a muddy forest path

Love the 2 Jays beside each other! What a good catch on that one. Both shots have nice blend of colours which contrast yet complement.

Time to clean your CCD SK. Dust spots visible on Common Pierrot shots.

Thanks for spotting the spots... Just cloned them out first. No more warranty on the D100, so it's gonna be $$$ for cleaning at Shriro.

Thought Shriro gave up the Nikon business and only does the Hasselblad, Lindt and Ricola business..?

Yes, saw a couple of them. Flying high and out of reach.

Thanks.

Same group of butts. There are 4 or 5 up north that look quite similar to the Elbowed Pierrot that we have in Singapore. One of us shot a 3rd of the species which, at a glance, looks similar too. You can check it out at the Butt Forum website.

Geographically, you have raised the bar higher (north is usually on top).

The second pic was nice, 2 different species in one shot.
