Default Ring Flash for Nikon D 70

I have a Nikon D 70 and need to do a lot of close up photography. I intend to purcahse a Nikon 60 mm F 2.8 Macro (micro) lens..but am thorougly at a loss as to which ring flash to buy. I belive that none of the available flashes (any brand) will provide me i-ttl or any form of ttl.

Any suggestions.

warm regards,
Sandeep

Actually, the use of a ring-flash is very limited. The way it is mounted in front of the lens make the pictures flat and featureless. That is why they are used for very specific scientific applications like dentistry or engineering.
If you are doing close-ups as in nature photography, it is more advisible to use an off camera flash bracket. Wimberley has one of the best flash-bracket in the market where you can position an ordinary flash unit to any position you need (every directly adjacent to the lens like a ring-flash). You i-TTL or E-TTL (Canon) can still work 100%.

You can get the Wimberley modules 1 & 4 (costs $380 from CP). To use it, you will also need to buy a Acra Swiss type plate. Good thing about this bracket is you can mount this combination on a tripod with an Arca type ball head.

Highly recommended!
