Great catch there!

Thanks to Papilio many butt flu sufferers are going prone position. I hope he dont start some crazier stuff like humping up a tree to shoot a roosting butt next LOL

Nice series of butts pics you have got here. IMH the com mormon is slightly centered. however, the exposure of the Pierrot and com Mormon is spot on with lots of detail.

Nice stuff Lion king. The sharpness and detail is present in all 3 shots. Only #3 top part has some obstruction, like another picture you posted previously? Exposure wise, all very nice.

As asked by a previous poster, did you adopt a prone position when firing these? #1 and #3 are usually very skittish right?, and when they fly, they fly far far away. Good catches.

Thanks guys.
Yes, the first and third shots were taken in the prone position. Didn't want to initially, so had to contort my body to get my eye down to the viewfinder. Stomach got in the way and I landed up in that position

BJT...agreed that the mormon was slightlyin the center. The left hand side was kinda cluttered and I didn't want to show that.

Jason...yes these guys were skittish Had to chase them for twenty odd minutes b4 they got used to my presence. Even then, had to moved slowly in order not to frightened them again. Getting down prone was the hardest.

Fuji...not to worried, we shoot again one of these days
The mormons did posed some difficulties. They don't stop flying.Had to switched to TV mode and cranged up the shutter speed to 1/400.
I took the chance when I saw that the aperture was in the F8 and F9 setting.

Yeah, we'll start with the contortionist positions and then climb trees next. BTW, roosting butts tend to stay low and close to the ground where the winds don't blast them off their perch, so no problems about humping up trees...

Nice series. From Sime Forest?

Waahh, prone position. I only try squat position (and of course standing position). Hmmm, how abt leopard crawl one of these day?

Phew! Lucky for us all LOL especially old coots like me. Dont think my bag of bones can take any such exercises. I swear I hear them creaking and cracking when I had to go prone.

LOL Lion King, learned something from you today. I was wondering how you manage to snag the mormon, now I know
