my YN460 just arrived today.. don't really know how to use it yet since its my first flash.. but i did take 2 decent shots with it..

full power, place is dark since i closed all my window and door.. lighting should be yellowish since the sun reflect yellowish light on my yellow curtain.. im surprised the shot came out very white!

think because at full power, your flash override the ambience lighting already.

try shooting slower then 1/250s shutter speed.

the 460s are not high speed sync capable, so anything more then 1/250s, the photo will only catch part of the flash.

Guys, I'm thinking of this setup.

Pls do advise and suggest me.

    Yongnuo 460 mark II

    - Lightstand

    - Umbrella Holder

    - Umbrella

    - Micnova Wireless Flash Trigger with 2 receiver
So it can trigger my Nissin Di622 and this Yongnuo 460 II

seems like a normal strobist setup, but the difference in color temp of the two flashes MIGHT sometimes cause some problems.

oh ya... this reminds me too.!

but since i will only buy a set of setup... the nissin would just be enough..

for groupshot, i just borrow my buddy's tripod to use 2 flashes..

but right now, i think i don't need more than 1 flashes and i think 1 flash is enough in that case.

yes it have problems with triggers.

im using the mark 1 and today i found that it can be trigger wireless through a special trigger.

this brand called "micnova" is able to trigger the mark 1 version.

im now tempted to "mod" my mark 1 version so it can be trigger with many other triggers.

from what i've encountered and inspect, it can't trigger with triggers because for the canon version, the voltage to trigger is different, thus it is different from the Nikon version and hence, it can't be trigger with wireless triggers.

However, from the video I saw, the modification is to add a relay into the circuit thus enable flexible voltage to trigger which allows me to use a huge variety of wireless triggers.

hmm, the price of the di622 mk2 is quite steep leh, not sure how does the yongnuo 468 stack up against it. the latter is only about $150~ shipped from ebay.

The yongnuo 465 with TTL function cost $130-135 and I can immediately get it in a physical shop in Singapore

Still comparing a YN-465 to a YN-468, not sure which is a better choice...
