tink its the person taking the photo...he's the one controllin everything...from the body he uses to the shutter speed....its very dependent on the photographer....

i showed my fren some of my photos.. and my fren told me that.

fren : your equipment is good..

    me : ... ok thanks.

kinda sad when my fren focus on my equipment instead of the photo taken using creativity or the composition skill..

yeah when photos are displayed and pple like them, many will ask what camera i use. get used to it man.

then i offer them the camera, so you can take good shots too! and they say no lar.. looks so cheem i dunno how to use.

i think next time i should bring a film point and shoot those really NO FRILLS one.. heck i'll buy a disposible one... and shoot.. see if it's really the cam or the photog.

but really, i'm not trying to up myself, it would be an interesting experiment.

hmm okok next wedding i shoot i will bring one along. interesting assignment...

Sigh.... well, as long the photog knows himself/herself that deep in, it's a good pic.

I think its the same to go with zoom lens, how often you've heard,"Eh, the longer the zoom the better the camera rite?"

For most people who know little about photogaphy, will very often use everything automatic. They will assume your camera must have a lot of automation to allow you take good pics, because they may have only used P&S camera, the only thing they can control is the zoom lens.

So they have this mindset that it must be all the built-in autmatic features that create the good pics.

Just tell them about shutter speed and aperture is already a lot. For them, a prime lens is not as good as a 10x zoom.
Unless you want to educate them, if not quite tedious to explain what makes good pic.

think some people will know that it's not the camera that produce great pictures after seeing my first 3 rolls (the 4th roll still inside the cam) LoL.. Total disaster and very disappointed with the result. It wasn't as good as expected. Well, it was in P-mode after all. Now I don't really depend on the camera, it is stupid. I use M/A-mode most of the time. Not very sure how to use S mode.... *sigh*

But i recently got that comment from someone.
Was just wondering if anyone else encountered it before, and how you felt.

Dunno should feel angry or honored?
You should feel numb by now.
