Default Sad sight at the Zoo



to see this at the Zoo today. a 'still born' in the hand of mother baboon right after she gave birth.

didnt the zookeepers take it away? not in keeping with the fun theme of the zoo...

The mother must be really sad and can't bear to be separated from her baby.... Maybe the zookeepers will take it away once she has calmed down?

sequence of events.


mother baboon gave birth


she ate the bloody stuff that come out after the birth.


baby didn't survived.

Have a heart lah. If they take it away so soon, the mother would be traumatised. Poor thing.

usually the mother will carry the carcass round for probably a day b4 she give it up.

Yes, its a sad thing but than again, its the course of nature. Just like when mother rabbit eats the weakers one so that the others could survive.

On another note, I think you got a good documentary here.
