    Default chinese physician

I felt so much pain in the spine since last week. I've gone to a GP but did not feel any improvement. Now I want to try the Chinese physician. Could you please recommend me a good chinese physician that has expertise in the spine? Thank you for your help.

    Tanjong Pagar Medical Hall

I frequent the sinseh there, pretty good. He does acupuncture too. Call them to check if the sinseh is in before heading down. Closed on Sundays.

Thanks for your suggestion. I've already tried 2 GPs but so far no improvement at all.
I prefer to try Chinese Sinseh since it is really painful.

If you visit GPs, just make sure they don't use Steroids as the "solution". Last time I kanna before at a GP in Boon Lay. Long queues of uncles and aunties all with aches here and there. Was recommended there by my mum as my shoulder kept aching after a bad sprain. Supposedly this doctor is a "specialist" with joint injury and aches. On my first visit the doc gave me a jab directly in my shoulder area and within minutes the ache was gone miraculously and I could bend my arm backwards fully again! The treatment was expensive - more than $100. On the 2nd visit, the doc AGAIN gave me the same jab. That was where I sense something is wrong. Apparently, almost every patient got some form of a jab - it was obvious with pple coming out with a button bud in their hand, or rubbing the injected part as we typically do. And I also noticed I started putting on weight rapidly which I suspect is a side effect? I noticed that my mum was looking puffy too and I stopped her from going there since.

actually, u should not visit GPs. They are quite useless when it comes to recurring pain cos they are not trained to deal with it...

    - i suggest u get a GP to recommend u to a gov hospital pain specialist or an ortho consultant the wait might be long and most likely than not, they cannot solve the issue.

-anyway, Chinese physicians might be worth a try. You can go to Chong Hwa clinic. Most likely they will try acupuncture on you.

but what i really recommend u is to look for what is called a chiropractor. Mind u , they are not medical doctors...but they are probably ur best best to solve this spine problem

    What mattress are you using?

Most of my back pain due to work/play go away after getting seahorse the diamond mattress. was considering between it and tamron 17-50 but the pain in my back put up a good argument.

The odd thing is that the GP didnt recommend you go for an X-Ray?
You wont see me much less remember me but i am the guy who makes you look good.

I use a firm mattress Sea Horse too. I don't think my pain is related to the mattress.
The 2 GPs gave me some medicines to relief the pain but didn't recommend me for X-Ray.
    Not sure why ..

That is scary. Should avoid this GP.

if you have some $$$ to spend, try going to polyclinic for an x-ray of your back especially the more sensitive areas.

at the most if nothing is wrong, makes a nice room wall decoration.

if the pain has been persistent for too long, and painrelievers help but it is still there, this could very well be a more severe problem.

did you make it clear to the GP how long the pain had been, what the previous GP gave, etc?

suggest you try going to a polyclinic, explain the situation to them, and ask for a referral letter to see a specialist in government hospitals. i am not sure if this will lead to subsidised examination/treatment fees thereafter (assuming you go for government hospitals, i know people who insist on going private hospitals all the time), but i think it should.

how long the pain has been , i do not know, but muscle injuries/sprains should not persist for extended periods of time. if left unaddressed or undiscovered, such could develop into something worse. this is how servicemen in ns develop life-long problems such as slipped disc.

I went to this Chinese Sinsei at Katong Roxy Square. It's the building beside Katong Shopping Centre. It's called Annie Tiang (note on the spelling of the surname, I may have gotten it wrong, but it's something like that). It's located on the ground lvl, on the outside of the bldg, on the right hand side if you are facing the facade, along the small side road.

I 'shifted' my left shoulder when trying to climb up a wall without a ladder and they managed to fix it back with some acupunture and a good shove. Excellent work all done in a session and I never gone back since, which also explains why I cannot remember the correct spelling ;D

How do you climb wall without ladder? ...
Anyway how much you are being charged and also how long is the consultation?
I had prolong back pain since secondary school time coz i jump down from level 2 in one of the activities so - young time too active, old time will regret!

Anyway i had tried different sinsehs + tui na but either too costly or too inconvenient to go.... so .... hmmm if your this one is not too bad, i might consider dropping by.

..... Anyway, next time use ladder hor ... ain't spiderman ah!
    Take care

2nd that... steroids should be avoided as much as possible... they are very fast to react, gives almost immediate comfort, but they don't heal the root of the problem, and long term usage will cause other noticeable side effects.
