    Default Good image quality zoom compact cam to intro

    Hi, I would like to know if the Panasonic FZ 35 & Canon Powershot 20IS good? Are the pics noisy?

    well, I'd guess that both cameras would exhibit noticeable noise in pictures at higher ISOs...

    There's only so much that a small sensor can do to suppress noise.
    As to your first question... well, it depends how you define 'good'...

    small? light? cheap? fast? large zoom range?
    wide angle?

    Pretty much all cameras like the ones you shortlisted can zoom.
    The definition of zoom is to change the focal length.
    I've not seen a fixed focal length camera in quite some time.

    The only examples are interchangeable lens cameras with prime lenses. The Olympus EP-1 and Panasonic GF-1 with their pancake lenses come to mind.


    Please elaborate more about your 'camera that can zoom' point.
