Hi art2d2,
Generally, I really like silhouette shots, but I think it's important to be able to see them well. I like the couple in front, especially with their arms in a similar position. In the shadows, you can almost mistake them to be siamese twins. The unfortunate thing is that the 2nd person is lost in the shadows of the pillar. I really like the colour though. |

Firstly, it is impossible to know from the image that this is an airport. looks more like an office space with the cubicles etc... Of course, one can imagine this is some transortation terminal due to the rolling baggage. But the hint is not strong enough. The coloration works well makes it cold and dull (feels like people are parting and sad... bluesy). Exposure is good. But composition (placement of people) needs work. One of the fellers completely disappears in in the column. Negative space in the foregroung seems unnecessary and may benefit from a crop.
hope this is useful. cheers |

Thanks for your comments. This is a snapshot from the waiting gate before a flight so I took it because of the cool silhouette effect. I do agree that composition can be better, the shot was taken at knee level because I was sitting down on a chair. But unfortunately the people in the picture do not stand still most of the time.
Thanks and keep your comments coming. |

if the centre of the pic only got the lady (ie if the 2 guys were not in the pic)then the pic will have a lot more "mood" impact ^_^
