IMHO. basic rule is for the models to look in your direction generally. Doesn't have to be spot on..but at least in within the angles in your direction.

there is no rule that governs fashion as always full body. However, if u are being paid to cover the event for a fashion showcase, generally, u need to produce more full body shots but u can also submit 3/4 shots

try to get into angles that make the subjects stand out. i think u were at a very low angle as such, the models have to look downward towards your cam. could u have moved to a better but further location higher up?

will be great if the shots are about eye leveled

hope this helps

the focus for the show is on hairdo right? so 3/4 or 1/2 body shots are ok.

Just to clarify, for full body shots, it will include a lot of distracting elements. Will that be acceptable?

I'm trying to avoid shadows cast by my flash. Any ideas on how to do it?

As for eye level.... not for this tent's setup... the runway is pretty high and the photogs are shooting pretty up close.

Yep, the focus is on hairdo.

Somehow I couldn't capture the "life" of the unique hairdo's together with the model's "attitude".

Can anyone give some pointers on how to photograph hair on such occasion?

it depends on the final objective of the photog or it's client.
For some clients a full body shot is a must. While others may concentrate on the markup, some on the hairdo only, some even on the shoes, accessories, handbags, etc.
As for me, i like the facial expression and the makeup, as such, a 1/3 body is my style.

unless you stand on the chair/photographers' platform or jump with every shot....

but generally, the pics will turn out nice if you stand away from the stage, i.e. shoot further back.

not bad actually . but #2 and #6 will be better if the head/hair is not crop off.

ummm... how far? I'm using 28-135. The models are moving pretty fast along the runway also... that's why some hair got "chopped"
