Hehe, let me guess... You shot those pics with 70-200 f4L????

He was asking about PhotoShop UnsharpMask...

Lovely dragonfly pics... You should try NeatImage to clean the background a bit...

No no..
Those are not noise.
He sharpened too much, that's why it turned noisy...

y0ngcheng,

Excellent shots!! Well done. Beautifully exposed and great colours. My favs is no. 4 and the last one. As the others have mentioned, watch your sharpening, wat u could do is play around with different % levels of USM b4 settling on one that results in reasonably sharp images while inducing lower levels of bg noise. The noise is quite noticeable in all the pics except the last one.

Mind sharing with us your whole setup (e.g tripod/hand held, how many ext. tubes used, settings?)

Keep shooting!

would be prefer if you include the EXIF settings for reference ..

all shots are well composed and exposed , well done !

I like 3rd and 4th shot the best .. for 3rd shot, try wider angle ( more leaf ) and avoid dark background ..

I like the 3rd pic on Obelisk posture. I just find that the flash is a bit strong, you've got some blown highlights there.
If you will shoot dragonfly from the top angle e.g 1st and last pics, make sure the tip of the left and the right wing is of the same distance from your lens.
Well done.
