    10-20 is in for sure,

for the other it depends on where i'm going. could be a 28mm f/2.8, could be 70-300, could be 18-55.....

if i really had to stick to 2 only for rest of life though, probably 10-20 + 18-270 (yes, i know, cheating)... i would rather have more choices of focal length than good iq.

    17-40 and 135L. Occasionally swap the 135L for a Sigma 14mm f2.8.

for general usage, only one lens each time
    35L on Canon FF
    18-200 on Canon crop
    24-70 on Nikon FX
    18-200 on Nikon DX
otherwise birding lens, macro lens, portrait lens, landcape lens, bokeh lens for each specialized purpose

Got around 2 to 3 dozen lenses in my drycabs, but all not mine.
So I only use my one and only 18-70mm D70 kit lens

    I only use two lenses if I'm shooting film. Two primes, a 17mm and a 50mm on a F100.

Wide angle for sure, the other one is most often a short telephoto. I hardly use my normal zoom anymore.

Restricting myself to just 1 (prime) lens can be quite fun too.

If I may list down my choices, even if nobody's really interested...

    I usually bring out 2 film bodies and 3 lenses: 20mm, 50mm, 100mm Macro.

But I find myself not using the 50mm at all, and usually happy to swap between the 20 and 100... This, for normal walkabout when I don't really have anything specific in mind to shoot... what I call, more-walk-than-shoot photoshoots... =)

people like to say that you can zoom with your legs.

when you're at a lake, and you're waist deep already, and you still can't shoot what you want to shoot, the composition you want, you zoom with legs, also cannot get your picture. i shoot landscapes primarily. all focal lengths are useful at certain points in time.

    Hey all,

I dont have any specific areas of photo-taking; most of the time are walkabout shoots. My choices are limited but its sufficient for now.

    18-105mm + 35mm F1.8

    Cheers!

Do not have much choices, normally I would bring all my 3 lens (1 zoom and 2 primes) out. If I've to choose 2 lens, it would be:

    Walkabout/Landscape Shoot: 15mm & 17-70mm
    Portraits/Concerts/Indoor Shoot: 17-70mm & 77mm
and if I want to travel light: 15mm & 77mm

I usual bring additional 1 lens.

    24-105mm f4 and 50mm f1.4 for general shooting.
    If shooting land/cityscape will be bring 17-40mm f4 and 24-105mm f4
