Default Here's an interesting question - 2 lenses kit

came across this post on The Online Photographer

interesting question actually... so what is the 2-lenses kit of yours that you actually take out for shoots (whatever the nature of shoot)? caveat - must be what you already have and not wish to have.

    a) AFS 28-70/2.8 & AFD 85/1.4 - these is what i use for almost all my shoots... which makes me wonder why i have the so many lenses...

    17-50 (my most used lens)
    11-16 (for landscapes).

Thing is, I carry different kit sets for different kind of shoot.

I will swap 11-16 out for 50/1.4 for portrait shooting.

If I am in a big city doing walkabouts, I will swap 11-16 out for 35/1.8

    17-40 for travel
35 for any type of shoot/travel
50 when i am in the mood for MF
85 is pretty underused... still hesitating whether i should keep it or not

My 2 lens kit varies from shoot to shoot as listed below.

Macro (main) + Landscapes & Portraits (sub) = 100/2.8 macro (with close up filters & Raynox 250 DCR) + 11-16/2.8
    Streetscapes (main) + Walkabout (sub) = 11-16/2.8 + 50/1.4 (with close up filters & Raynox 250 DCR)
    Travel (main) + others = 18-200/3.5-5.6 + 100/2.8 macro (with close up filters & Raynox 250 DCR)

When I really want to go light, I'll replace my 7D main body with my 450D backup body and only bring my CZ50/1.4 + Raynox 250 DCR and a white foam with rubber band for diffuser.

    show-off...

totally understand the "full force" cos that's what i used to do at the start. then realised i was pretty stoopid for carrying everything but end up using 1 lens...

still, i found the article useful as a reminder...

Its mostly the 16-35 & 24-70 for me though i still include the primes in the bag as the additional weight difference from them do not really bother me.
