Any Tripod will do. Get it from cash convertor, a secondhand one and a first hand one does not make a difference to your camera.

A very good idea indeed. Since your camera does not require 'special' tripod. It's cheap and serve your purpose.

Like Menpa said get a new $20 Tripod from Carrfour. CP = Cathay Photo, they have a lot of tripod, but definitely above $20. Your camera does not weigh that heavy for such a heavy tripod.

Well ... for one, the three legs got to be of equal length. For your camera, don't think you need a heavy tripod.

Like it has already been pointed out many times, a light camera like yours would do fine with almost any tripod. A few points to take note:

The height of the tripod when fully opened, without the "neck extended".

Make sure when the tripod is opened, it's actually level..

You might wanna get those "3D" rotational head. Some tripod can only go in the Y axis, or the X axis only, or the X and Y, but not Z. Ok, i'm kidding :P dunno if any tripod can move in the Z-axis. Haa.

Sorry ar, taking a break from my project

You'll only get conned if you don't know your stuff. In PP, you need to know the right guys and know what you're looking for, including the pricing.

U may consider to get a slighty better wan for your future use.. I don't think u will stick with your s50 for life time right?

My advice, don't choose plastic head... u will regret next time
