The New Paper Wedding Planner attracted a big crowd today - more than half are photographers

The designer and make-up artist with the models.....

Here's what happened when synchronised shooting occurs Like the effect? Think at least 4-5 photographers fired off at the same time.

More to come.....

2nd pic - dont quite like the effect. The shadow is distracting too.

Can sync so well? Hmmm... should turn off your flash to save some battery juice (jusz kiddin)

last year it was held at Taka. there's also the "My Dream Gal" contest these two days.

overall it was quite fun. there's also lots of free food from the hotels/caterers on exhibition there.... but they didn't offer us after seeing us with our cameras

Thanks

Found Canon's flash/camera metering preserved the "whites" very well.... at the expense of underexposure of the face/arms though. guess it can't be helped

Actually, the meter is fooled by the white that they are wearing. Shld have done a compensate to bring out the skin tone. 1/3 or 2/3?

that might have overexposed the backgrounds though.

What I want is to brighten the midtones but not overexpose the highlights (especially the lighted background). I've actually use manual exposure and has used flash to try to brighten the models and compensate it by +2/3 to +1EV. Is this the right approach? Pics did turn up brighter after this, though the face is still quite dark.

hmm... could you elaborate more specifically? e.g., overexposure, under, placement of flash, modes, compensation, balance with ambience....
