Sunroute is one of the nearest to Shinjuku (approx. 3-5mins), amenities is easily accessible.

Just came back yesterday, manage to smuggle a table pod into disney land/sea. the sun sets early this time of year, around 430-500pm
i put the table pod in my jacket pocket, they only look into your bags

    for those going to hakone
i think the anti clockwise route is less crowded
get a ryokan halfway and stay the night
use the luggage delivery service for easy and comfortable travel before you get to your ryokan

a private bath in your room is not a must as you can book a bigger private bath if you wish

one more thing to note, there are not many free wifi hotspots on tokyo, even haneda international airport does not have free wifi
so get hotels that provide free internet access if you need.

haneda airport has internet access terminals if you need but at 100 for 10 mins, you will need to change the keyboard layout back to En as the default is Jp

    1) Shinjuku Prince
    2) Shinagawa Prince
    3) Shinjuku Washington Hotel
    4) Sunroute
    5) nishi-Shinjuku

Any idea which of these hotels are the best to stay that is both near the subway to Narita and the line that goes to shibuya-harajuku-ueno ?

I wonder if i can do a day trip to hakone as i only have 3 nites in tokyo

A ride in the shinkansen would be nice.
i did a whole day trip to Hakone and Mt Fuji so it's possible. please check with the hotel concierge.

    Dear all,
i will be heading to Japan in March for 8 days and I've yet to set up an itinerary nor booking of hotels. It would be great help if some of you who have been there are able to guide me, on what are the places to visit and what to expect.

I will be in Tokyo only, and actually wife wants to go DisneyLand and of course shopping and if possible check out some traditional japanese style hotels, parks etc.

I'm kinda lost as to what and where to look, so far the travel guides I borrowed from the library are not very useful.

    Really appreciate your advice.

Useful links for general info and planning/Convenient hotels/train routes. JNTO has PDF files of specific localities (under destination) and suggest travel ideas. Tons of info from these links:

    www.jnto.go.jp/eng/
    www.japan-quide.com
    www.tokoko-inn.com
    http://www.jorudan.co.jp/english/nor...norikeyin.html

Nikko and Hakone aree easily accessible from Tokyo. Stay in Ikebukuro in Tokyo. Good place for the young. Shinagawa/Ueno convenient. Have fun.
