    hi,i have a problem using it outdoor..may i know to set the flash in order to have a proper exposure

    for example i'm using ETTL and the flashhead pointed upward using stofen omnibounce....but the photo turn out to be whitewash...how to solve the problem...wat setting shld i use do i need to -stops in order to achieve the satisfactory result of perfect exposure

    there is no hard and fast rule. understand how the flash works, and play around with the settings. understand how the exposure metering works.

    show some examples of your whitewashed images so others can guide you.

    There is no standard rules but there's easy mode.

    For 580EX II, during day time outdoors set it to high sync. To configure, press the mode button to change. You should see a lightning icon with "H". It means high sync. So that your pictures will not be over-exposed.

    For indoors, use 2 curtain mode. To configure, press the mode button to change. You will see a >>> icon. So that you get enough ambient light.

    All these settings must be set in Tv/Av/M mode. You can reach the 580EX manual, it is all inside.
