AF28-200mm Macro - Tamron or Sigma?

Hi folks,

Have read up for the past one hour on the 28-200mm lens. Understand the pros and cons...compact travel lens, cheap, but image quality will suffer. I thought it suits me fine since portability is important to me and I could make do with a slight drop in image quality...

Some questions though:

1) How bad is it? The 300D's kit lens image quality is acceptable to me...how far is the 28-200mm's image quality from the 300D's kit lens?

2) How much is the Tamron and Sigma retailing at? (Could not find a Sigma sg site for price reference)

3) Which is better (img quality/build wise) -- Tamron or Sigma?

U can also consider the tokina 24-200mm, seem to be the best of the lot optically and build wise from web reviews and having a wider end(abt 38mm equivalent).

Thanks xdivider! I went to check out the specs of the Tokina already...looks good but would the extra wide angle come at a price? Price is a concern to me.

Anyone has any indication of the prices of the
-Tamron AF28-200 Macro
- Sigma AF28-200 Macro
- Tokina 24-200?

And any sample images?
