iPhone 3GS confirm can support Chinese "out of the box".

Can even select input with hanyupinyin, 5 stroke Or handwriting. Locals tend to input pinyin better, while PRC tends to write better with the other.

What you need is this: http://www.apple.com/iphone/how-to/#basics.introduction

Go spend some time reading it. Since you've spend so much getting the phone, it makes sense to spend some time getting to know your new friend.

If you even bother to join in the fad of owning an iphone, then atleast have the initiative to learn how to use it on your own. Google IS your best friend. If you claim to be an idiot to all this, then get an idiot proof phone. 7-11 sells a few models of idiot proof phones. Check out the nearest store available to you.

I was at a friend's house. A terrace house. The location shown was the neighbour's house, which is like off by 5m or so. 5m accuracy by GPS or whatever is already so darn accurate in my books.

sorry to dissapoint... the calculation method use by iPhone is based on base stations.. you should be connected to an outdoor base station which usually have a wide range of up to 500m. therefore iPhone will calculate ur predicted point through the intersection of 2 or more base stations.

i suppose ur using goggle maps, try going indoors and do a relocation. result should be abit more accurate.
