i don't even know why they still want to race in Monaco. it's a boring processional race. the only thing they still race there is because of glamour and nostalgia.

Besides the glitz/glamor, Monaco is the ONLY zero error margin race. Yes, boring for the viewers, but demands the driver to do precision driving.

I'm quite eager to see who gets the tyre decisions right.

Hope to see Alonso on the top step this time

Needless to say, qualifying is absolutely crucial, and the race will be won today... especially so for idiots who don't know how to take care of their tyres like Pork Slice.

I wouldn't be surprised if Button somehow manages to squeeze through to the front.

the only interesting parts of the race were where Alonso made his way through the field. it's a good strategical move to change to the medium compound when the SC first came out.

good for him and Ferrari. they got both their cars in the points

Wah, Schumi managed to pip Alonso at the last few corners b4 the Safety Car release the pack for the chequered flag. wow That one more interesting. Alonso caught sleeping by Schumi.

    Alas kena penalised for 12th.

Schumacher was handed a drive-through penalty, which is converted after the race into a 20-second time penalty, dropping him from sixth to 12th in the results.

Schumacher passed Alonso just as the safety car pulled in at the end of Lap 78. The FIA stewards, which included his old sparring partner Damon Hill, have deemed the German breached Article 40.13 of the Sporting Regulations, which states that “if the race ends whilst the safety car is deployed it will enter the pit lane at the end of the last lap and the cars will take the chequered flag as normal without overtaking."

Mercedes will appeal the stewards' decision and a date for that appeal will be set in due course by the FIA. Schumacher’s demotion moves Toro Rosso’s Sebastien Buemi, who had finished in 11th, into the points in tenth place.

can't say that Alonso was caught sleeping if Article 40.13 is breached. it's just that Schumi being himself... is trying to be himself

Actually the safety car rule/restarts after safety car has long been enforced for many seasons already. When the message "safety car in this lap" it means that the green flag will be out, but cars may not overtake until they have crossed the start-finish line. Schumacher was trying to be smart by overtaking Alonso when he saw the digi-flag flash green but he forgot the "may not overtake until you cross the line" rule.

Sometimes as drivers, you just wanna race every chance you have, and you may not remember every line in the rule book.
