hi i'm new dslr, teach me how take photo? my canon 550d + 55-250mm is enough tele?

That part depends on the user. If not enough tele, there is always 400mm, 500mm, and so on.

I would be bringing a tripod though.

55-250 on aps-c shld be far enough reach as singapore river is not very big. as for how to take, that depends on what you have in mind really. freeze the action, or create motion blur, thats up to your preference.

This is where m4/3 cameras have an advantage with x2 crop factor imo.

with a 300mm lens, thats about 600mm of serious telephoto range.

all thats missing is one with 8fps or more...

if you want to freeze action, use high mid-high iso and shutter (Tv) priority mode. use continuous focusing also.
